You will love this place. Its bring you to feel the nature, whispering what universe singing by the hills, forest, mountain, and the waterfall arround..

If you reach Bali, Ngurah Rai Airport, you can reach Ubud by:
Taxi, Aiport Pick Up, or you can use your Hotel Accomodation

Last time I ask Taxi corner and my Hotel service, it charge me arround Rp. 300.000,- Rupiah (30 USD). It was costly for me, So l was plan my vacation to stay in Kerobokan, Seminyak . I rent Scooter and drive to the Ubud. I rent from Mr. Ketut that always be my Scooter rent provider everytime I go to Bali :D

(Anw, I love going somewhere by Scooter/Motor SO MUCH rather than by car!!)

Kerobokan to Ubud only arround 40Km's and l spent arround 1 hour and 15 minutes. I drive slowly and enjoy the nature. Its nice to driving from the center of tourism center area to the silent place like Ubud. We will familiar to see the coconut island island, rice field , waterfall , river, hills, etc..

Ubud is famous as the hill's or high land in Bali. Not high as real mountain tough, but Ubud still have a cool weather. I think its more quite enjoyable for expatriate to stay here. In remember Ubud weather more similar with their own country weather.

In Ubud, you still will seeing so many tourist and foreigner arround the world having holiday for traveling, stay here for along time, or maybe doing some spiritual activities like yoga or meditation.

Oh yes, After Julia Roberts came to Indonesia for Eat Pray Love in Bali, Ubud more famous. Many foreigner come to seeking Spiritual Guru or just simply looking for true love.

In Ubud, you can do these things :

Yoga or Meditate Class (Ketut Lyer was the famous)
Art or Gallery seeing (Blanco Museum was my favourite)
Monkey Forest
Birds Park
Ubud Traditional Market
Traditional Temple (I like Saraswati Temple)
Campuhan Ridge Walk (I like having tracking in here)
Tegalalang Rice Terrace
Painting with local Artist
Chilling in the Bar in the night
Eat some nice Gelato in Ubud Street
etc

I did all that list while I was stay in Ubud 2X in last years. Ubud is like a small local city inside Bali with natural and culture include. This place have all the facilities to entertaint the tourist. The local one, or the global one.

Is it costly living in Ubud than any area's in Bali ? Maybe. But not much costly like we live in Nusa Penida or Nusa Dua area. Here some list price for you to wonder :
